Self Directed

This is a portrait with a close crop, I chose this background because I wanted to get the yellow from the lemon tree in the image and the blue sky. I choose a  narrow DOF because I wanted the background to be blurry and not take to much away from the subject. The vantage point in this image is traight on almost low angle as the subject is alot taller than me I had to ask him to bend his knees slightly. I wanted and bright happy feeling image. f/4.5 shutter 1/800 ISO 200
I wanted to get more of the lemon tree in and abit less sky. I used the same settings as the previous photo  and stood on stairs so i could get a high angle of the subject to get more of the lemon tree in.. I asked them to smile and stand in the middle on the lemon tree. f/4.5 shutter 1/800 ISO 200

Rule of thirds

In this photo the subjects eye is  on the right top hand side of the rule of thirds intersecting lines. f/4.5 shutter 1/400 ISO 200
The subkect is on the right hand side of the rule of thirds. f/4.5 shutter 1/400 ISO 200
The subject is on the left hand side of the rule of thirds. f/4.5 shutter 1/400 ISO 200
The subjects head is on the left top side of the intersection lines on the rule of thirds. f/4.5 shutter 1/400 ISO 200

Streetscape

The horizon in this image is in the top of the rule of thirds line. f/13 shutter 1/200 ISO 200

The horizon in this image is on the bottom of the rule of thirds line. f/13 shutter 1/200 ISO 200

Object photography

This is a close crop of some lollies (as close as I could get with my leans). f/5.3 shutter 1/100 ISO 200
I tried give the subject more space in the frame but but it came out with and ugly shadow because I was trying to take the image straight on.. f/3.5 shutter 1/100 ISO 200
I tried again in portrait so to not get more than I wanted in the frame and to get ride of the shadow I was making I also used flash on a high angle. I used the tray in the background to give the image more life but I used a small fstop and a narrow  DOF as to not let the background take away from the subject as it takes up alot of the image. f/3.5 shutter 1/100 ISO 200

Bernd and Hilla Becher

Bernd and Hilla Becher

I took this photo to try recreate the Bernd and Hilla style, The light was quite flat and I took the image from straight on but my DOF was quite narrow, I  should have used a higher fstop. I think there was too much negative space in this image. f/4.5 shutter 1/250 ISO 800

I tried taking the photo again lanscape with a closer crop. f/4.5 shutter 1/250 ISO 800
Their photos are usually black and white and the sky is blown out so I changed it to black and white and increase the exposure to blow out the sky.

My black and white photo looked quite harsh in comparison to the reference photo so I increase the warmth in camera raw
