Week 3 Vantage point, Fore/mid/background - Herbert List (Camera use)



Herbert List


List was born on the 7th of October in 1903 in Germany. He had wealth parents that owned a coffee brokerage business that he apprenticed for. He began taking photos while on business trips and in 1936 he left Germany and moved to Paris and became a photographer professionally. A lot of his photographs were portraits and artistic avantgarde photos in black and white. He worked with magazines like Life, Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. He passed away on the 4th April 1975.

Thoughts: The vantage point in this image is looking down, the foreground in this image ins the  top of the brick wall and the fish in the glass vase. The background in this image is the ocean and the island. This photo really shows how steep up the the photographer.
Thoughts: The vantage point in this image is a low angle from the photographer , straight on to the goblets of water and jug. The foreground in this image is the table containing the goblets of water. The background in this image is the mountain with the structure in it. 
Thoughts: The vantage point on this image is a low angle  making the dog look very bold and powerful. The  foreground in this image is the dog and his person. The background in this image is the water and the mountains.
Thoughts: There is a low vantage point in this image making the kids look really bold and heroic. the background in this image its just sky. This puts more of the focus on the kids.
Thoughts: There is a low vantage point on this image making the boy s look strong and bold. The boys are in the foreground and the mountains and water are in the background.
Thoughts: There is a high vantage point to this image. The foreground in this image is the reflection of this buildings in the mirror and the background in this image is the wall, outside and the window and window  frames.
